On 21 June 2025, the Ukrainian community gathered at Perceval House for a magical and heartfelt celebration of Ivana Kupala – one of the most beloved and symbolic holidays in Ukrainian culture. The event was hosted by BRIDGE for Ukrainians, marking our first public community gathering, and formed part of Refugee Week 2025.
The celebration brought together 64 attendees, including both Ukrainians and local residents from Ealing and beyond, and was made possible thanks to the invaluable support of 13 dedicated volunteers.

Throughout the afternoon, guests took part in traditional wreath-making, Ukrainian storytelling, folk songs, dancing, and enjoyed Ukrainian snacks lovingly prepared by the community. The atmosphere was warm, joyful, and welcoming – a true reflection of the spirit of Ivana Kupala.

Our people said:
🌿 It felt like being back in Ukraine for a few hours — the songs, the traditions, the atmosphere
🌼 The wreath-making was calming and joyful. My children loved it
🌻 It was more than just an event, it was a reminder of our roots and a way to pass traditions to the younger generation
We are deeply grateful to our partners and funders – London Borough of Ealing and EHCVS – for believing in our vision and making this celebration possible. Together, we are building bridges between cultures and strengthening the sense of belonging for all who call Ealing home.
