Welcome to BRIDGE for Ukrainians
Bringing Resources, Integration, Development, and Growth in Ealing for Ukrainians
We are a volunteer-led charitable organisation supported by Ealing Council and the Ealing and Hounslow Community Voluntary Service (EHCVS).
BRIDGE for Ukrainians was born from lived experience. Ealing has the second highest Ukrainian population in London. In just the past year, the Ukrainian community in Ealing with EHCVS support has given help to over 300 refugees and offered legal assistance to nearly 100 households.

Our chairwoman, Olena Horkovenko, knows first-hand the challenges of starting over.
For my family and me, the path has been challenging. Fleeing Donetsk in 2014, then relocating again after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, we’ve faced countless uncertainties. Arriving in the UK was daunting, but the kindness of ordinary British people gave us hope. Founding BRIDGE is our way of giving back, helping others navigate their own journeys, and proving that resilience and determination can lead to a brighter future
We believe that support works best when it’s community-led - where volunteers and participants stand side by side, learning and growing together
Our team includes 12 trustees who represent different age groups, cultural backgrounds, and professional sectors, from education, journalism, and finance to marketing, psychology, architecture, and community development. This diversity ensures that BRIDGE truly reflects the voices and needs of our community.
Alongside them, around 50 dedicated volunteers contribute their time, skills, and energy - from organising events and running workshops to providing one-to-one support and creating a welcoming, vibrant space for all Ukrainians in Ealing.
